Global Perspectives on the Need for Standardisation of Training, Certification and Registration of Workers
In November 2019, Global Community Resourcing hosted a workshop event at Griffith University Logan Campus focusing on the discussions of the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety about the certification and registration of workers who provide direct care and support services. The workshop received attendance from a range of service provider representatives and researchers and members of the community and aged care sectors. Additionally, the event outlined the international experiences with the recruitment of workers under VISA provisions and explored recent work undertaken in regard to standardisation of work and Human Resources.
The workshop was led by Dr Sabrina Pit from Work Wiser International, Anne Livingstone, Projects and Development Director at Global Community Resourcing and Adriana Ciacaru from the European Trade Union Confederation within the International Standards Organisation.
Anne Livingstone and Dr Sabrina Pit have also lead consultation for Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) at the November 2019 Sydney Australian Association of Gerontology (AAG) workshops.
