Dr Kate Barnett, researcher for various projects with us at Global Community Resourcing has won the Flinders University 2017 Distinguished Alumni award, which was conferred in May this year.
The award notes the dedication and hard work that Dr Barnett has put into her projects.
Her long term contribution to the field of gerontology has been greatly appreciated by those in the industry, and by Global Community Resourcing. In 2017, Dr Barnett received a Flinders University Distinguished Alumni Award in recognition of contribution to ageing and aged care policy and multiculturalism and in 2014 received the Dorothea Sanders and Irene Lee Churchill Fellowship to study the teaching nursing home model inj the USA and Canada.
David Horstman, another project and deployment lead at GCR was awarded Citizen of the Year for the electorate of Dickson on Australia Day 2018.
The award recognises his outstanding contributions to youth, community health and animal welfare.
This comes after David was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australian in the general division in the Queens Honours Awards of June 2017.
